Feature Presentation: Space Medicine 101 - A Primer on the Challenges and Pitfalls of the Human Body in Space with Dr Rowena Christiansen

Dr Christiansen will provide an overview of what happens to the human body in space including the challenges for surgery and anaesthesia in the space environment and also take a look at the potential pitfalls of space tourism.

Dr Christiansen is not scared to ask the tough questions: Is space tourism a disaster waiting to happen from a medical perspective? Is my appendix useful, and should I take it with me if I'm going to Mars? These and other questions will be answered in this fascinating presentation.
